Amir Khan's boxing career has somewhat stalled in the past year and a half or so.

The Bolton born fighter has not been seen in a boxing ring since May 2016, when he was knocked out by Canelo Alvarez.

Khan came close to sealing a 'super-fight' with Manny Pacquiao in the early stages of 2017, and both fighters even tweeted that an agreement between the two had been made for a potential bout.

However that fight failed to materialise, and despite Khan vowing to return to the ring by the end of 2017, that possibility was quashed when it was revealed he would appear in the 17th series of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'

Now 31-years-old, Khan's best boxing days now appear to be behind him and many have questioned whether he will ever make a return to the ring.

However, the Olympic silver medallist from 2004 has revealed a lot about his future in boxing in a Twitter Q&A with fans.

Khan revealed that a hand injury has stalled his boxing return, but stated that he now plans to return to the ring in March next year, with further fights being targeted in July and December.

Khan also revealed the men he wants to fight in 2018, with the 31-year-old naming four potential opponents.

The Briton claimed he was targeting fights with Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson, after completing a tune up fight in March.

Whether any of Khan's plans will materialise is unknown. Given his age and time out of the sport, it is unlikely he will be anywhere near the fighter that he used to be.

However, regardless of what the future holds, fans of Khan will just be pleased he will be returning to the ring after a near two year hiatus.
