To install a .deb file on your Dreambox running OpenATV, follow these steps:
Transfer the .deb File: First, upload the .deb file to your Dreambox. You can use FTP software like FileZilla to connect to your Dreambox via its IP address. Navigate to the /tmp folder and transfer the file there.
Access Dreambox via Telnet/SSH: Open a terminal on your computer. Use a tool like PuTTY to connect to your Dreambox. Enter the IP address of your Dreambox, and log in (the default username is often root, with no password).
Install the .deb File: Once connected, navigate to the /tmp folder by typing cd /tmp
Then, run the command to install the .deb package: dpkg -i filename.deb
Replace filename.deb with the actual name of the file you uploaded.
Fix Missing Dependencies (if needed): If there are missing dependencies, you can resolve them by running apt-get -f install
Restart Your Dreambox: After the installation is complete, restart your Dreambox for the changes to take effect. You can reboot it using the following command reboot
