Thales Alenia Space to build a common communications satellite operators Inmarsat and Hellas Sat called Inmarsat S - Europasat / Hellas Sat 3 . satellite will provide MSS (Mobile Satellite Services), FSS (Fixed Satellite Services) and BSS (Broadcast Satellite Services).
Loads MSS is designed to deliver services in S-band for all 28 Member States of the European Union. Coverage FSS / BSS is Europe, Middle East and South Africa. Loads Inmarsat S - Europasat offer extended mobile services across Europe via hybrid network that combines satellite services in the band S with Complementary Ground Component infrastructure (CGC). Inmarsat S - Europasat serve air passengers communications services, as well as services in the field of Public Safety Protection & Disaster Relief (PPDR) across Europe. Loads Hellas Sat 3 will provide services of DTH and telecommunication in designated areas of its range. Inmarsat S - Europasat / Hellas-Sat 3 , built on the Spacebus 4000 C4 Thales Alenia Space, will provide several beams in the S-band and Ka-band for Inmarsat and 44 transponders in 1 Ku-band and Ka-band for Hellas Sat. The satellite has to have a takeoff weight of about 5900 kg and provide usable power about 12.3 kW. Inmarsat S - Europasat / Hellas Sat 3 will be positioned at the orbital position 39 degrees East .
