MultiChoice widens HD offer to DStv viewers

South African pay-TV operator MultiChoice is making its high definition (HD) channels available to more of its customers.

Before now, only DStv Premium customers had access to the company's 20 HD channels, however now DStv Extra subscribers will also now be able to view six HD channels, DStv Compact customers four HD channels, and DStv Family and Select one HD channel a piece – as long as they have HD television sets and HD decoders.

"High definition has become the standard for premium television around the world – we want to offer our customers the best entertainment possible," said Mark Rayner, COO, MultiChoice South Africa.
