Swans can light up the cup

Post by sake »

Ian Ogg previews Tuesday's coupon in the Capital One Cup and believes that Swansea are overpriced to win at Anfield.

2pts Fulham to beat Derby

1pt Swansea to beat Liverpool

Shrewsbury Town host Chelsea in what should be a terrific game to be involved in for all those at the New Meadow club but it's difficult to envisage anything other than a routine success for the away side.

That is despite Micky Mellon's side having a fruitful home campaign that has seen them win seven of their eight games and outscoring their opponents by 19 goals to three.

They've seen off Blackpool and Norwich at home, while also beating Leicester away for good measure, but Chelsea are on a different planet to those three clubs, regardless of which team they put out.

The latter point remains pertinent at every stage of this competition for the larger clubs but Jose Mourinho's match day XI should be good enough to progress even with the wholesale changes expected after the Manchester United game on Sunday.

The layers are dangling a sizeable carrot with the odds against quoted about an away win-to-nil, but the Shrews are in red-hot form and should be fired up by the presence of the Sky Sports cameras and a second choice XI and it may prove wise to resist taking a nibble.
