Express-AM1 Decommissioned As Of 10 August 2013

13 August, 2013 - On 10 August 2013 the Express-AM1 satellite was decommissioned. As of 12 August, a deorbiting program has been put in effect to transfer the decommissioned satellite to a graveyard orbit, to be followed by final operations to avoid defragmentation and unauthorized activation of onboard equipment.

Express-AM1 was built by ISS Reshetnev Company under a contract with RSCC jointly with NEC/TOSHIBA Space Systems. The satellite was orbited on 30 October 2004 and commissioned on 1 February 2005.
