The iconic news analyst and host of “Khara Sach by Mubasher Lucman” along with his team at Khara Sach has resigned from ARY News. No “Khara Sach by Mubasher Lucman” from now onwards. The team includes host Mubasher Lucman, Senior Producer Rao Awais,Social Media & IT Manager Daniyal Lucman, Program Producer Muhammad Shoaib, Non Linear Editor Adeel Ahmed, Producer Sheikh Muhammad Naveed and Producer Afifa Rao (Left to Right).
Lucman and his team made this decision after ARY News terminated his program’s today’s episode on the grounds that it was against MQM. MQM already is staging a protest outside Press Club Karachi against Mubasher Lucman who has unveiled a lot of corruption cases against MQM. Mubasher Lucman has done a couple of programs on the security situation in Karachi and has unveiled names of MQM workers involved.
In the latest show Mubasher Lucman and the Khara Sach team was unveiling another set of names with evidences of activities that MQM and their workers were involved in. Lucman directly named Altaf Hussain in the program and was disrupted and was put off air. Sources from ARY News Karachi confirmed about the pressure mounted by pro Altaf elements to get the show off-air.
MQM appears to have the same strategy every time a scandal comes against them on the television. Their media wing has forced cable operators in the past as well for blocking channel broadcast on their wills. The Cable Operator’s network in the southern Sindh cities and Karachi specifically are highly influenced by MQM office bearers and nothing, irrespective if it is real or not, can go online against MQM on any of the National Television networks.
When approached, Mubasher Lucman told Baaghi TV that he is not willing to sit back on the show and he has proofs for whatever he has said on air. This is not the first time Mubasher Lucman has faced criticism from the MQM workers for talking against Altaf & Co. Earlier, in 2009, similar protests were initiated against ARY News and Mubasher Lucman in Karachi.
We’re trying to get the remaining part of the program so that his fans don’t miss it. In another of the recent events, Kashif Abbasi’s show Off the Record couldn’t go on air for the same reason; only that the PPP Mafia pressurized ARY News to cut the program from going on air. PPP Prominent Leader Zulfiqar Mirza was unveiling inside stories about the PPP Leadership and the growing differences between Bilawal Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari.
Both these and similar incidents question the credibility of the News Networks in Pakistan. The news channels are reluctant to unveil the reality to the people therefore it doesn’t matter if they block something from going on air due to political pressure.
