Samsung Galaxy Tab J is a Budget Tablet with Support for SIM

Post by Umair Malik »

Samsung has unveiled a new tablet for the budget market, something which is becoming a bit of a rarity these days. The so-called Galaxy Tab J is designed to get the job done and absolutely not much else.

The display on the front is a 7-inch PLS panel with 1280 x 800 resolution (like the original Nexus 7) with 216 ppi. The tablet also supports SIM card connectivity so LTE services on the go are a possibility.
Under the hood, you get a 1.5 Ghz quad-core processor with 1.5 GB worth RAM and 8 GB internal storage, expandable via microSD by up to 200 GB. The back boasts an 8 megapixel camera with f/1.9 while there is a 2 MP selfie shooter, too.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi, FM Radio and A-GPS. The battery capacity is set at a fairly average 4,000 mAh with 9 hours’ worth juice though at its price we can’t really complain.

The tablet runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz, but comes with Kid Mode for your young ones. There is also S Bike safety mode for removing intrusions in traffic.

If you think this product is underwhelming, maybe the pricing will lure you in. The tablet costs just $185 meaning it is as disposable as they come. It will become available next month in either White or Gold.
