A review of the weekend's action in the German Bundesliga as Bayern Munich picked up their 10th win of the season.


Bayern Munich picked up their 10th win of the season in the Bundesliga on Saturday, although they were made to work hard for a 1-0 victory at Hertha Berlin.

Pep Guardiola's men dominated the first half, but only had Arjen Robben's goal to show for it.

It was a different story in the second half, though, with Hertha forcing their opponents on to the back foot, although the home side could not find an equaliser as Bayern moved 10 points clear at the top of the table.

Second-placed Wolfsburg have the chance to cut into Bayern's advantage when they host Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.

Bayer Leverkusen turned it on in the second half to claim a 5-1 victory in the Rhineland derby against Cologne.

The Goats led through Matthias Lehmann's early penalty, but Leverkusen fought back and Karim Bellarabi's equaliser ensured it was all square at the interval.

It was then largely one-way traffic after the break, with Hakan Calhanoglu putting Leverkusen ahead before Josip Drmic (two) and Bellarabi added further goals to seal an emphatic win for Roger Schmidt's side.

Augsburg scored three second-half goals to claim their fifth home win in a row and leave Hamburg in the Bundesliga's bottom two.

The Bavarians had to come from behind to seal a 3-1 victory after Rafael van der Vaart had given Hamburg the lead just before half-time.

Halil Altintop levelled before Raul Bobadilla and Paul Verhaegh with a penalty sealed the points for Markus Weinzierl's men.

Zlatko Junuzovic put the hosts in front after 10 minutes before the livewire Davie Selke doubled their lead early in the second half. Fin Bartels added a third almost immediately and Levent Aycicek sealed victory 10 minutes from the end.
