Hands on DM 500s

i have borrowed a Linux receiver ..i have a better plan to get any HD Linux receiver but till then i wanna learn some basics about these Linux based receivers..
i don't know which image it have but its confirmed that its a Clone
@ Aliraza you are the BOSS in this field please guide me how to install image and specially Oscam after then i will learn all steps
please seniors i need your attention and guidance

Commando 12, 14, and 14.2 were 100% developed on clone boxes.

But we've had good quality feedback to the effect that it performs equally well on the genuine DM500S too.

Flashing dreambox 500s-

First get dreamup
Make sure to switch off and unplug your dreambox from the mains before connecting or disconnecting any cables, Null Modem, LNB, LAN, scart lead etc, otherwise this may cause internal damage to the box.
1. Unplug your dreambox from the mains.
2. Disconnect all cables except the Power Cable & a Null Modem Cable connected between your Eagle and PC com port.
3. On your PC install and start DreamUp
4. Select your correct PC Serial Port.
5. Untick “Use Network”
6. Click Connect.
7. When you see the on screen message “Connection Prepared, now switch on the dreambox!” now plug in your dreambox.
8. Click Flash and navigate to the image file on your PC.
9. After installation is complete, exit DreamUp.
10. Unplug your dreambox from the mains and wait at least 1 min.
11. Disconnect Null Modem Cable, Connect LNB, LAN & Scart Cable.
12. Plug in your dreambox and wait for it to boot into setup mode.
13. Perform Setup and scan satellites.
14. Save all new settings by rebooting the receiver. (Menu\Shutdown\Reboot Now)

@Aliraza at the moment i don't have null modem cable but can i use LAN cable for connectivity and i wanna run OScam in it please post any latest OScam link which you have tested and work flawlessly with dish tv card and also on cline

Caution : last time I tried with dsl cable my box got dead.Then after null modem cable it got on.

@Aliraza i want to manual install Oscam because from the blue panel i couldn't understand and please elaborate it

@ aziz5210 i want to totally reset my dm500 like a new on can you guide. i mean all memory erase and total new installation like firmware and image etc
