Dish tv help with startrek 9990 cline

I have dish tv sd with 2 feet dish.i bought startrek 9990 super receiver .i have cline .i unplugged the cable from dish tv box and plugged in startrek but startrek did not turn on only a red light start flashing.once I unplugged the dish cable it turns on.question is can I watch dish tv on same setup by only swapping receivers.if not please guide me possible way to setup .thx
