Report:- Pemra Action Against Cline /DTH

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) teams continued operation against cable operators showing illegal Indian content and confiscated receivers, DTH boxes and dish TV sets and C-line network.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, PEMRA Lahore Rural team raided M/s Power Cable, Mandi Usman Walla, District Kasur. 10 receivers were confiscated on relaying of illegal/proscribed Channels.

PEMRA Sindh Region's Hyderabad team has conducted a raid on godown at Gao Shala Hyderabad. Over 50 DTH dish antennas and c-line receivers were recovered.

In district Khanewal 4 dishtv, 20 receiver ,01 CD player, 02 amplifier, 01 multichannel device were confiscated.

PEMRA Sindh's Hyderabad team has seized a C-line network along with wifi setup feeding subscribers upto around 500 meters. PEMRA Team Gujranwala seized illegal system completely from village Kotla Arab Ali Khan District Gujrat.

On the instructions of chairman PEMRA and RGM (Sindh), two teams of PEMRA Sindh conducted joint operations with Directorate of Custom Intelligence, FIU in areas of Sukkur and Hyderabad.

PEMRA Team led by Sheeraz Asghar Shaikh (DGM-PEMRA) raided various shops in Bhirya Road Town of District Naushahro Feroze (Sukkur Range) and seized various illegal equipment supporting distribution of Indian DTH.

Another team led by Sarfraz Ali (AGM-Hyderabad) raided a C-Line operating network in Hyderabad feeding C-Line subscribers through wifi.

The team also raided a godown in Hyderabad seizing dish antennas, C-Line equipment used at both subscriber's end as well as provider's end.

Equipment seized by the two teams includes illegal DTH receivers, C-Line dream boxes, various receivers and hundreds of DTH dish antennas.

PEMRA teams confiscated three dish TVs and one multi device from M/s Awami Cable Network, Daewal and one dish TV from Fast Cable Network, Hadali in District Khushab.

I suspect Pakistani DTH will be priced quite high so the govt is doing this drama
