Why People Selling Their Icone Iron Box? Is this because iski updates band hone wali hai or orka server freeze kr raha ajkal or server par kuch satellites band ho rahi hai ja hone wali hai.
4k server wala receiver lena tha maine Vu zero4k already hai mere pass.
Agar yeh box best nhi hai ton aur 4k box batao only for server, fast zapping ho, video quality and, interface UI, bhi clean ho.
Lifetime free server ho ton best hai

Re: Is Icone Iron Pro Server and Updates Going Stopped?
People are mainly selling Icone Iron Box due to server issues, freezing, and lack of updates. It’s not because satellites are shutting down—those are mostly rumors. The real problem is unstable or expired private servers. Also, “lifetime free server” is usually not reliable.
If you want a better 4K receiver:
For India / Asia satellites:
Go for Octagon SF8008 4K – fast, stable, clean UI
For Europe satellites:
Dreambox DM900 UHD or VU+ Ultimo 4K – high performance and reliable

Hi Sukhi
Really thanks for sharing this inside info. I never have those server rich but not feature rich STBs ever.
So the main selling point of this box can die anytime which is free server.
And yes I agree Octagon SF8008 is very decent option.
I'm very curious to know why different receivers for Asia vs Europe. Because as far I know I can use servers in VU vs Octagon works same. or is there any blocking issues which need VPN in Octagon to open europe satelllites IKS.
I already have Vu zero 4k right now. Please asnwer this asia vs europe STB difference.
BTW where are you from? I'm from ludhiana, Punjab.

There’s no official confirmation that the ICONE Iron Pro 4K server or firmware support has completely stopped, but signs suggest development has slowed significantly.

Re: Is Icone Iron Pro Server and Updates Going Stopped?
Currently using a Vu+ 4K Zero as my main Linux box and it works great for experimenting, testing images/plugins, and general technical use.
Now I’m looking for a second STB mainly for casual watching on another 65-inch TV. Before buying, I want real long-term feedback from people using Forever-based or similar-supported satellite receivers for European satellites (roughly 80°E to 4°W).
I’m mainly interested in stable everyday watching with good video quality, proper modern audio/video format support, and decent long-term software support. I don’t want to deal with VPN tricks, unstable setups, or constant freezing issues. Just want something reliable for European channels with minimal hassle.
Also noticing many older boxes like Icone Iron Pro / Icone iRCON Pro are still being sold used at high prices (6k–7k+), but from what I read the old Orca Gold support/service is not very reliable anymore. So I’d really appreciate honest real-world feedback before I buy anything.
What box are you currently using?
* How much did you pay for it when new or used?
* What do you like and dislike about it?
* How stable and reliable have the updates and service/support been over time?
* How is the picture quality on large 4K TVs?
* Does it properly support modern video/audio formats?
* How is the firmware/software support situation nowadays?
* Which satellites work best on it for European channels, and where do you face issues/freezing?
* Is the hardware still fast enough today, or does it already feel outdated?
Interested mostly in non-Linux receivers for this second setup, but Linux and Android boxes are also welcome if they genuinely offer advantages for satellite use. I personally prefer clean minimal interfaces over flashy colorful launcher-style UIs since I already have Android TV features built into the TV itself.
Would especially appreciate long-term user experiences with Starsat, Tiger, Geant, Vision, Forever-based models, Octagon, Vu+, GTMedia, Formuler, Dreambox, Zgemma, Edision, etc.
Trying to understand which STBs are still genuinely worth buying in 2026 and which ones are becoming unreliable or outdated too quickly.
