New Humax YouView box takes price below £200

Post by Uniq »

A new YouView box has been launched in retail. The Humax YouView DTR-T2000 is the first to take the price of the broadband connected receiver below £200.

The device is being made available across all major retailers and independents including John Lewis, Tesco, Argos, Currys PC World, plus Humax Direct.

The compact box features a 500 GB equivalent to 300 hours of standard definition recording (SD) or 125 hours of high definition (HD). It also includes a seven-day catch-up service on BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5 and record, pause and rewind functionality.

Graham North, Commercial Director of Humax, commented: “The Humax DTR-T2000 brings the seamless YouView service to the masses, with its attractive price point enabling even more consumers to benefit from this sophisticated TV service. The new box offers the first compact Humax YouView product available at a cost-down price point while still providing the high-quality service and choice of programming that customers expect from Humax.”

David Faulkner, Head of Corporate and Business Development, YouView added: “It’s great to see the YouView box offering evolve into a faster slim-line version with the advent of new hardware technology available from Humax. We are confident this new box combined with a lower price point will give customers an affordable and easy-to-use experience to find and enjoy the TV they love.”

Humax has been YouView’s lead manufacturer since the launch of the PSB-telco product in July 2012.
