Ya Konan out until turn of the year

Hanover - Hannover 96 striker Didier Ya Konan underwent a successful operation to his left ankle ligaments on Monday.

The Ivory Coast international was forced from the field early in Friday night's 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin after twisting his left foot.
Out for 2013


29-year-old Ya Konan, who has scored one goal this season and featured in six of Hannover's eight league games, is unlikely to appear again for Die Roten this year.
